Regarding the Project for the donation of medical equipment valued at 122,552 by Rotary Club Skopje-CENTER through the Hearts of Europe program, with financial backing from Rotary International and USAID, an educational event was conducted on November 24, 2023. This event was a collaborative effort with the Faculty of Medicine at the University Saint Cyril and Methodius in Skopje.
Approximately 100 participants, including students, academics, professors, and the university rector, gathered to delve into the topic of liver transplantation. The featured speaker was Koray Acarli, a Hepato-pancreato-biliary surgeon and the Director of the Organ Transplant Center at Istanbul Memorial Sisli Hospital in Turkey.
Among the attendees were Ms. Milena Perchinkova, President of Rotary Club SKOPJE-CENTER, and Ms. Marija Vukelicj-Shutoska, Chairperson of Rotary Foundation Committee of the Association of Rotary Clubs in the country, along with representatives from Rotaract Club Skopje-Center and other Rotarians.
The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine personally conveyed gratitude to the Club’s President for their support. Plans are in place for continued collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine, including the organization of additional educational sessions for its students.
